About Jojos Lodge Cabins near Bräcke, Jämtland

Jojo’s Lodge is a small cluster of self-catering cottages at the forest edge just outside Bräcke, in eastern Jämtland. The area is known to anglers for the Gimån river, one of the region’s best trout and grayling waters,  and to cyclists and hikers for its quiet forest roads and lakeside trails.

Self-catering, but not self-service. The cottages are fully equipped and independently run, but the details matter to me – beds made on arrival, tea and coffee ready, games and local information on hand. Guests have told me it feels more like a small hotel than a holiday let. That’s deliberate. My name is Joanna, most people call me Jojo, and I’ve been in hospitality my whole life. My family ran hotels in Sweden and Wales, and I’ve also worked in hotels in France and North America. I know what makes a stay memorable and what makes it forgettable. At Jojo’s Lodge, I try to get the former right every time.

The cottages sit at the edge of Nyhem, a small village halfway between Bräcke and Kälarne, with the forest as the nearest neighbour. Älgen and Renen each have two bedrooms, a living room with comfortable sofas and a smart TV, a fully equipped kitchen, and a bathroom with washing machine. Räven has one bedroom with two extra beds in the living room, otherwise it is identical to the others. All three have two outdoor seating areas. In Räven you can stay with a maximum of two dogs. 

Out here, nature is the main event: fishing, cycling, hiking, foraging for berries and mushrooms, or simply being somewhere quiet. The Gimån river runs nearby. The forest starts at the door and the nearest lake is a short walk away.

Jojo’s Lodge is for adults and children aged 10 and over. Each cottage sleeps up to four. All three cottages can be booked together for a group of up to twelve.
